Dr Faiza Shaheen is director of the Centre of Labour and Social Studies – an economist, activist and commentator on issues of inequality, austerity, immigration and social mobility. She combines an academic rigour with with a background in the third sector and economic research, and will bring her perspective to the huge changes our society has experienced in recent decades. Could it be that traditional models of leadership aren’t serving the whole of society in a way that represents our wider needs?

Faiza joined the Meaning 2016 panel discussion to explore the need to redefine what we mean by leadership in business, politics and society as we move away from command and control, towards a fairer and more participative way of organising.

The panel was hosted by Paul Mason and included co-leader of the Green Party Jonathan Bartley, leadership consultant and author Blaire Palmer and self-management pioneer Paul Green Jr.
